Yoga For Nature
Australia
Phil is a Yoga teacher, activist, film-maker and the founder of Yoga For NatureTM a global yoga community and registered charity that advocates for the Environment, Human and Animal Rights.
Formerly a TV producer for well over a decade, Phil was in charge of the editorial decisions on multimillion dollar entertainment shows in Australia, Asia, Europe, and the U.S., but when he committed more time to his Yoga practice he felt a growing responsibility to tell stories that inspire social change.
In early 2015, Phil returned to Australia after finishing his last TV job in South Africa and began a whole new chapter of his life, embarking on a year of social & environmental research and logging over 1000 volunteer hours on humanitarian and conservation projects.
With a deeper understanding of the issues, Yoga For Nature was launched in February 2016 and now inspires a growing number of Yogis to achieve sustainability and peace through effective partnerships, the teaching of Yoga and the promotion of advocacy and action.
At this years festival, Phil will talk about Yoga as a practice for personal transformation and social change.
Sharing his personal insights from setting-up a not-for-profit to Yoga For Nature’s unique approach to advocacy from around the world, Phil will explore the hours we spend between our downward dog and reveal how the global Yoga community can co-create a more peaceful and sustainable world.
