Kate Porotto
Kate Porotto-Nelson is an Australian yoga teacher who has been practicing and teaching for more than twenty years. As a young dancer, Kate studied many disciplines of human movement including Tai Chi, then trained in Iyengar yoga whilst qualifying as a naturopath and masseuse. In Western Australia, Kate found her current teacher Kale Leaf and trained with him for several years. Along her yoga journey she has intensively studied and now teaches a range of yoga styles including therapy, women’s and pregnancy, Ashtanga, restorative, vinyasa and power yoga. She is now recognized in each of these fields as a highly skilled practitioner.
As a Senior Yoga Australia teacher, Kate sat on the committee of Yoga Australia for 3 years. In Perth she runs a popular 2-year teacher training program and runs two large yoga schools – Fremantle Yoga Centre and Off the Wall.
Kate has 4 kids and is known by local mums as the ‘baby whisperer’. Fertility is Kate's area of special interest and she has helped many women as a Yoga Birthing Doula. Over the years Kate has trained and inspired many teachers and presented at yoga conferences in Australia as well as on international training programs. Kate’s commitment to be of service to her community is her passion, and she loves helping her students to open their hearts and shine their lights bright.
